Course Overview

Our comprehensive curriculum delves into the critical aspects of identifying life-threatening scenarios and taking decisive action to protect yourself and those around you.

From understanding the signs of danger to learning how to interact with first responders amidst the chaos of amass casualty incident, this course covers it all.

Course Objectives

• Demonstrate a keen understanding of the roles and responsibilities of First Responders during an act of violence or mass casualty event.

• Be able to communicate effectively with first responders and other bystanders during a stressful event. 

• The student will demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively while on the scene of a large-scale event with other laypersons as well as first responders.

• Explain the importance of situational awareness and how it is applied in different situations.

• The student will demonstrate good decision-making strategies if needed.

• The student will demonstrate a basic understanding of the  Hartford Consensus for Zones of Care for a multi-causality event.
